HBO's Game Of Thrones Emmy Submissions

HBO has officially submitted the following Game Of Thrones' actor's names for consideration in the categories of Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress In A Drama Series:
Game Of Thrones: Actress:
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)
Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark)
Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)

Game Of Thrones: Actors:
Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy)
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) *Last year's winner.
Kit Harington (Jon Snow)
Richard Madden (Robb Stark)

As well as Game Of Thrones for Outstanding Drama Series. *Last year it lost to Mad Men.

This year it looks like HBO has learned from the mistakes it made last year. So far, they have not made any submissions for Game Of Thrones in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress In A Drama Series. If you remember, last year they submitted Sean Bean & Lena Headey to be considered in these categories. And if you watched the show, you know that no one actor had enough screen time to really be considered in the Lead category. Maybe this time around Lena, and everyone else, will have a better shot at getting nominated.

No Emmy nomination for Lena :((

The nominations for the 2011 edition of the Emmy Awards have been announced today and unfortunately Lena didn't make it! >.< Why??? :( Anyway, fellow GoT actor Sean Bean also didn't get any nomination, but Peter Dinklage is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Game of Thrones is nominated in the category Best Drama Series and the episode Baelor was nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and the show has gotten several other nominations in other categories.
Too bad for Lena and Sean really, very disappointing, they would definitely deserve recognition for their work! Well... at least we can make them win at the Portal Awards, so please people keep on voting!!

Article on Emmy picks for 2011

An article about possible picks for the nomination as "Outstanding Lead Actress" at the Emmy Awards, the official nominees will be revealed July 14, so keep your fingers crossed for Lena till then! ;) According to this reporter Lena is not likely to get the nomination, as she hasn't had enough screen time to be nominated as Lead Actress... unfortunately it's true that Cersei didn't get that much screen time, but let's hope anyway that what counts is the quality not the quantity of the performance! ;P
Here are excerpts from the article:
The Emmy nominations are just around the corner (July 14, to be exact), so it's time for Tube Talk to bring you our picks of the categories! We've already chosen our favourite Lead Actors in a Drama, so now it's time to assess the women! It's a tough category, but read on to find out who we think should be making the cut this year...[...]
And Lena Headey was super as Cersei in Game of Thrones - complex, cold, calculating and compelling. But the nature of the ensemble drama means she might not have garnered enough screen time for 'Lead Actress'.
