Cersei Lannister ~ A Beautiful Wreck

Shawn Mullins_Beautiful Wreck (9th Ward Pickin' Parlor 2006)
I've lost count of the times I given up on you
But you make such a beautiful wreck, you do
There's a tavern on the corner called the Milky Way
And you look so at home there it makes me afraid

*Chorus*:
And at the dark end of this bar
What a beautiful wreck you are
When you go too far, beautiful wreck you are

Like all the plans that you had from seven years ago
Like all the promises you made I watched them come and go
You put your keys in the car but it wouldn't drive
With your hands on the wheel, lookin' barely alive

I'm still sitting here waiting on the passenger side
For you to make up your mind
For you to make up your mind

*Chorus*

What a beautiful, such a beautiful, a beautiful wreck you are
What a beautiful, such a beautiful, wreck

I've lost count of the times I given up on you
But you make such a beautiful wreck, you do
Yeah, you make such a beautiful wreck, you do

*Chorus*

What a beautiful, such a beautiful, beautiful wreck you are
What a beautiful, such a beautiful, beautiful wreck you are

Game Of Thrones Season 3: Lena's Back To Work

Sept. 26: Here's a quick video of Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss arriving in Dubrovnik, Croatia to start filming the third season of Game of Thrones.

Hmm, is that a yoga mat in Lena's backpack? No wonder she looked so good in that black Armani gown at the Emmys!
                                    *******************************************
Sept. 27: Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Aidan Gillen arrived on set of third season Game of Thrones in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Hmm...stair climbing in heels, a corset, and that dress... Another clue as to how Lena managers to look so fit! And the lady sitting on the bench watching Lena, I can hear her laughing from here! She's saying, "I feel your pain, sister. But, You Go Girl!!"
(The person who had this bright idea, should be shot! Or better yet, dress them in the same outfit and make them walk up those steps 50 times.)

Lena Headey: 'There’s something cooler about the geeks’

Click on The Telegraph to check out another cool Lena Headey interview, this one written by Ed Cumming.
(excerpt:)
...she seems relaxed about fantasy fans, a famously dedicated bunch, obsessing over Cersei. “With fantasy and sci-fi, it’s based in a real fandom. You’re presenting to experts, and their source material is really important to them. They’ll come up and ask: 'so when you turned your head slightly in that scene, what were you thinking?’ “I enjoy that, because the battle is over the interpretation, and they’re more interested in the character than they are in you. There’s something cooler about the geek.”
After you've read the whole interview, head over to WiCnet and vote for Lena in their, 'WiCnet Awards Season Two: Best Actress' poll.

Lena Interview in The Irish Times

(click on or under the picture to enlarge)

Check out this excellent Lena interview by Tara Brady for The Irish Times titled:
'I Couldn't Be Less Queenly In Real Life'
(excerpt:)

“Nothing I do is by design,” admits a cheery Headey. “It’s always the result of a happy accident. I didn’t have a career plan. It has just become the way it is. It’s all good fun. It’s learning. I don’t think of the background when I am reading stuff. I don’t think about genre. If I like a character, if it intrigues me, that will be the reason that I jump in.”
                                                          *****
“I love being physical but I am extreme either way. I can be superfit. And then I can be really lazy and ignore everything. I am finally getting back into being fit. I love being physical when I am working. There is something visceral about that. I get a kick out of that. Cersei in Game of Thrones is quite solid and stiff. So it’s great to move when you can.”
                                                          *****
“I am very much a seat-of-the-pants actor. I will prepare when I have to. But I like being unprepared. Being too prepared doesn’t work for me. Sometimes it’s fulfilling. There are days you walk away and say, ‘Well, I did everything I could.’ But I am still terrified every time they say action. There is a part of me that lacks self-confidence. I couldn’t be less queenly in real life.”
                                                          *****
“Our designer is amazing,” says Headey. “By the time I put on the wig, the corset and the belt that squeezes out your lungs, I’m already uncomfortable and slightly angry.”  {the Game of Thrones' designer.}

To read the entire article click here:

Its a good informative interview but I did notice a mistake. When talking about Lena's tattoos, Tara Brady writes that Lena has, "the actor Jason Flemyng’s name in Thai on her wrist". That's not true. Lena had his name in Thai on her upper arm. Then later had it covered. She has the name Loughran tattooed on her wrist. And since that is also her son's name, there's no real reason to have it covered, right?

(excerpt:)

Plus: Here's a DREDD Motion Comic Featuring Ma-Ma's Backstory.

Lena, Congrats on 20 yrs in Showbiz!

(click on or under the picture to enlarge)

On August 21, 1992, Lena's first movie 'Waterland' was released in UK theaters.

Plot:
Waterland follows the story of a mentally anguished high school history teacher (Tom Crick/Jeremy Irons) going through a complete reassessment of his life. His method for reassessing his life is to narrate it to his class and interweave in it three generations of his family's history. The movie portrays the teacher's narrative in the form of flashbacks to tell the story of a teenage boy and his mentally challenged older brother living on the fens of England with their widowed father. The entire movie is motivated by an opening scene in which the history teacher's barren wife (Mary Crick/Sinead Cusack) steals a child from a supermarket and believes it to be hers. The teacher explains to his class how he and his wife carried out a teenage romance which led to a disastrous abortion that mutilated the girl's womb and left her infertile. (Young Mary/Lena Headey & Young Tom/Grant Warnock) The teacher is tortured by the guilt of this act as well as the jealousy he demonstrated to his older brother when he suspected his girlfriend's child was that of his brother. The girlfriend explains that the child cannot be that of the mentally challenged brother because his penis was of such enormousness that it could not fit into her despite several attempts. The girlfriend's flirtation with the older brother sets off events that lead to the older brother's suicide by drowning. A side-theme throughout the narration is of the teacher's grandfather, who was a successful brewer and who fathered with his daughter the narrator's older brother, thus accounting for the older brother's genetic difficulties. The movie ends with the teacher's dismissal from his school and a possible renewal of his relationship with his wife.

The movie also starred Ethan Hawke, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Pete Postlethwaite, and John Heard.
